What makes me a Vancouverite? Well I live in the Greater Vancouver Area and I'm very proud to be living here. Am I from Vancouver directly? No, but I grew up in North Vancouver, plus make Port Moody my home - both in the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD).
Originally from Prague, my parents settled for a short time in Toronto, where I was born on a cold November morning.
After a few years they left Toronto and headed west, and with a brief sojourn in Los Angeles, they made their way north and settled in Vancouver, British Columbia. My family is now scattered worldwide from Vancouver to the Czech Republic & Greece.
Growing up a geek, but working hard not to make it obvious, I have always had two great passions: comics and computers. In 1998, I took the plunge and went back to school and earned a diploma from Capilano College's Information Technology Program.
After cutting my teeth at Bayleaf immediately after graduation, I took my work to a new level during my time at both Radiant Communications and Devlin eBusiness Architects in their web development departments. Now I am running my own web business - Vanilla Bean Solutions. Now the "RAWK" (my foosball table nickname) does web development, project management, and client & technical support.
A vivid imagination keeps me busy at my computer writing stories.
