What defines me as a Geek? That's a good question. Is it my love for comic books, science fiction, fantasy, computers, vampires & werewolves? Could it be the rush I get looking at & hearing about new technologies?

Any and/or all of these could be the answer but I know deep down inside me, I am a geek and proud to be one. I have had the opportunity to go to San Diego Comic Con & Emerald City Comic Con numerous times, and had the great pleasure to meet various people who I respect.

Are You Awake - A transmedia project | A Dream Detective Media Properties Inc. ProductionI am currently involved in a new transmedia project, Are You Awake, that has involved making 50 thousand promotional comic book copies which were handed out at 2010 New York Comic Con. You can follow more of the project and view the comic book online at the Are You Awake website. Feel free to check it out here: http://www.areyouawake.tv/.

Fingers crossed for the Are You Awake transmedia project.

I have a strong passion for comic books and ran my own blog for many years but 'retired' from the blogsphere recently. To steal a quote, it was like "feeding a vampire" with the never ending need to always be writing about things geeky. The blog was more or less a scream sheet for comic book news with the occasional review, rants and rambles. Check out BetweentheStaples.com if you like.

Also in 2006, I submitted a 6 page comic book that I wrote, lettered and produced (with art by Craig Shepard) to Arcana's Dark Horrors II competition. My submission was accepted and in 2007, the book was released - Arcana Comics Dark Horrors II and can be ordered through Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc.

I had the opportunity to work as an comic book Editor for Zeros 2 Heroes and have completed 2 online comic books: Gustav Hayes & Abigail's War.

Opportunity presented itself in 2004, when I was able to combine two of my passions, and participated in "24 Hour Comics Day". I wrote and digitally designed a comic in one 24 hour period. In 2006 I returned to do the 24 Hour Comics Day and made another digital comic book in 24 hours.
